ugh oh, maybe that was why it was so thin. i sent a PM to fooby to ask her if my texture was suppose to be like that. guess she had already signed off before i got my PM to her. i was letting it sit- i thought maybe that might harden it up a little. should i go back and add another 1/2 cup since i have already put in there?

I always use antonia's icing recipe....using a 2 lb bag of pwd sugar plus 1/2 cup more....I've never had it turned out wrong.....I am very precise on measuing the water though!

just so you know...you can't say every box of p sugar is a certian amnt of cups. Each box settles differently and so do each brand. You really should go on weight and not volume-this is key! Jus tthought I would let you guys know, hope this helps.

1 lb powdered sugar = 16 oz = 4 cups, so 4 oz would be 1 cup.

wow, the 1/2 c really thinckened it up! is the icing suppose to have a....weird taste? it seems like it is a little bitter, not sweet as i thought it was going to be. guess it is kinda hard to describe what something taste like icon_confused.gif i just thought it would of been more sweeter i guess...

I'm such a banana head!! I'm sorry I wasn't really paying attention when I replied to your question. I was supposed to type a cup but typed half a cup. That's what you get for working and logging into CC at the same time icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

It's a good thing I didn't type more than what's needed icon_lol.gif

8 fluid ounces = 1 cup of liquid, but 1 cup of powdered sugar weighs 4 ounces.
