I know I saw a dog food bowl with like milk bones or something in it. I thought it was here on CC but I just looked at all the cakes with the dog word and didn't find it. Has anyone seen this cake or do you have any ideas on how I could achieve it? I want to make a 10' round double layer. Thanks!

Michelle

I FOUND IT! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif Scroll down and check out the link and I would love any tips on how to achieve this cake!!!!

mom~ I love your signature!!!! HOW TRUE HOW TRUE!!! lol icon_lol.gif

Thanks for the link but the one I'm looking for is a food dish with bones in it I think. I think the bowl was either blue or red. I just don 't know where to start to look or to come up with what to do. I would like to do this cake for an obedience graduation this saturday for the trainer. TIA!

I really like this one! I found the link to the one I was originally talking about! Check it out and let me know what you think and if you have any ideas on how to achieve either one of these. Which one do you guys think would be easier? Not that I'm not up for a challenge, I just want to do a good job since it is a gift.....TIA!

This is what I found on the site about the second cake I sent...
"This was a 3 layer, white cake with a chocolate icing filling. Hand colored fondant was used to cover the cake, as well as a dog collar of fondant. The chocolate sugar cookie 'dog bones' filled the top of the bowl"

I would say just stack all 3 cakes but hollow out the top (I read that if you freeze cakes that you are going to carve it is much easier to do). Then cover in fondont or buttercream. Then you can get a small bone cookie cutter and fill with mini cookies.

I like them both, but I really like the collar around the bottom.

GOOD LUCK!

Yeah! I kind of like the collar around the bottom too! It's just cuter! Plus I think the other one looks airbrushed and I don't have one of those. I guess I need to search for a dog bone cookie cutter when I go to class tomorrow night!! Thanks!

That is adorable! I want to make something for the trainers and something for the puppies!!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif I never thought I would be "one of those people" that are obsessed with dogs. We love our puppy so much though! He is an American Mastiff, just turned 1 on Valentines Day. He is 30' tall and weighs about 125 or so. He has about another 6 inches to grow and about 80 more pounds! icon_lol.gif He's like a shetland pony!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

If you can't find a dog bone cookie cutter, there are Scooby Doo brand graham crackers shaped like dog bones (called Scooby Snacks, go figure). They're not as big as these look, but could work in a pinch.
