Royal Icing Recipe Needed

Hi All, I have recently discovered this amazing site. Everyone is so creative and talented!! I was astonished by all the great cakes! I am hoping to be as good as you all are someday, so I volunteered to make a cake for a friend. No problem- except I know nothing!! It is going to be a vanilla cake, not for sure on what flavor buttercream, and I was wanting to decorate with some flowers. Having never baked before, I need a really good Royal Icing recipe and please any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks for the inspiration and your time!!
By the way, the cake has to be done this weekend!! HELP!

For a great Royal Icing recipe, you could try Antonia74's. Look in the articles section (tab at the top of the page) and find the "How to Bake & Decorate Cookies" article. Her royal recipe is there. I know it's in relation to cookies, but it's still a great recipe. It's foolproof if you follow her directions! I used it on gingerbread people a few weeks ago, and while I didn't make flowers (never have) it was my first time making & using royal icing & I do know that it's very easy to make and work with. Or you could try doing a search in the recipe section (again - tab at top of page)...There's some there that you might like. And I'm sure many others will be willing to offer their recipes, too!! lol
I just have one warning for you....Be Careful!! You're going to get very ADDICTED to this place!! HA!

I have been prowling the site (for the past 3 hours- you were right- I'm hooked!!) and noticed the snickers cake by Biscat. Is there any way I could get that recipe - my brother loves Snickers bars and I would be thrilled to make him this cake as soon as I get my current one done. Thanks again for the help - I'm getting hungry staring at all the pretty cakes!!
