Just so you know I did your survey anyway. I don't smoke. But have lived with a smoker or smokers all my life. I said I smoked but it wasn't nessecarialy cigarettes at that age. It was a trail thing. So I wanted you to know for your research. And I have breathing problems due to living with smokers. I don't know what your research is all about. But that is my input. I took it too, and I am wondering why it doesn't allow for people who have quit smoking....everything is in the present tense, for example "I smoke because I am addicted". Well, I WAS addicted, but I don't smoke anymore so it doesn't apply to me, see what I'm saying? Maybe if you re-word your survey you will get more accurate results.

Just as some FYI .... I'm always disappointed when this topic heads toward the "addicted" verbage. I'm a summer time smoker. It's too cold to smoke outside in the winter, so I don't. My husband and I believe we both have the non-addictive gene that was recently discovered, because he stopped smoking just by not buying a new pack when he ran out. I stop smoking when I decide it's too cold. It drives my doctor nuts when I tell him smoke about 3 or 4 packs a YEAR!
I hate the "if you've smoked one, then you're addicted" attitude. Someone who only drinks champagne on New Years Eve isn't an alcoholic. Not everyone is "addicted".
Now if you ask me to give up my Coke or my Iced Tea .... THEN you have a war to win! 
Indydebi- In no way did I mean to direct the survey towards the "if you've smoked one then you're addicted" attitude. And in no way does that reflect how I feel about the topic either. I'm sorry if I've offended you (or anyone else for that matter); I simply included the question to see if someone who smokes would consider themselves an addict or not.

Sometimes I get on my soapbox on topics that tend to start out as "ALL people do this" and "EVERYBODY likes that". (Try buying any turnover in the grocery store that is NOT apple or cherry. I guess EVERYBODY likes apple and cherry ...... NOT!) 
But, I rarely, if ever, take anything personally, so *I* will apologize to YOU if that's what I made it sound like. Let us know how everything goes!
