Hi, i just purchased the 3Dbear pan(wilton). The instructions said to use a pound cake recipe. Anybody have any suggestions for a good recipe. I checked the recipes here at CC but there are so many. Also if i were to place the bear cake on top of another cake, what should i do to support it. any help is appreciated and i hope everyone had a great holiday. thank you in advance. thumbs_up.gif

I've used the following with good results:

It is made with a cake mix.

I have done the bear pan with a DH chocolate cake mix before and it held up well if you can go chocolate. If you can use cake mix, BC has a great pound cake mix!! I also was able to just place the bear on top of my sheet cake without any support, but if you are concerned you could cut a small board to fit under him and place dowels in the sheet cake under him.

I used this pound cake recipe. http://www.wilton.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=57996&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=
My MIL LOVED it. I cut a cake board to match the bottom of the bear and then used a few dowel rods under it.
