to ask the bride if she's come up with any ideas or preferences for the wedding cake? They notified me of them needing the cake on Thursday (22nd) and I just got word from the MIL that the bride's colors are periwinkle, white and black with calla lilies. Just gave the bride my web address today at about 2. It's now 8 and the wedding's on the 17th of March. Should I push on this one or wait a couple days?

i would call her and just say something like, "i like to be planning ahead so that i am prepared." or something like that. that is why we need to know in advance because it DOES take some planning on our part.

I'd go ahead and call her, tell you you need to get your supplies in order, need a sample of her colors so that the cake can more closely match her wishes, and will be available x, y, and z days at such and such time. Her help would be greatly appreciated because you're going to purchase supplies to help make her cake special.

um, why are you beign worried about polite? has she paid a deposit? has she made an order telling you how many, what kind, what color, etc.? if it is a month to go and you haven't discussed those things, I wouldn't assume you were doing the cake. Just my opinion, however.

Is it impolite???? What, are you her grandmother or something! Get that girl on the phone to let her know you need to know what she expects her cake to look like! YOu're running a business, not a Little Girls Club.

(can you tell I get a bit passionate on this?)

Planning's part of the biggest process in decorating! PUSH! Call that girl! Brides are so clueless!
