Has anyone ever used the premade (canned) Raspberry filling? was it good,etc...
It says on the can for pies or toppings. In a hurry and didn't want to have to make it from scratch....

I haven't used pie filling but I use raspberry jam all the time!

Absolutely. Use it all the time. It's great. I put buttercream frosting on first and then spoon on the raspberry filling. Everyone who has had it loves it. Enjoy!

if you jam, do you use it straight or mix it with BC frosting?
Have never used it either...Thanks

You can do both!! I like it mixed with buttercream but I've used it straight from the jar too.

The reason I was worried about the pie filling or the jam, the other recipes calls to strain the seeds out. so I guess I was worried about the seeds. (does that make sense?)

I'm not sure about the pie filling but I know they sell seedless raspberry jam.

What would the seeds do?

I think the seeds are just annoying when you eat them. Some people don't like nuts in their baked goods...texture thing or just don't like nuts or allergy... Also if someone has a condition called diverticulitis...they can't eat little seeds in things. Be sure to put a good dam on your cake and do put the layer of bc before filling...or piping gel. Also you could fold some seedless raspberry jam like Smuckers with some whipped Pastry Pride or cream depending upon refrigeration...
