I said I would love to see a cake version of Iron Chef in the thread about which cooking shows we like/dislike. I dislike the shows where the decorators bring in a months worth of premade gumpaste figures. Do ya think the folks at Food Netowrk heard me?
I can't wait to see this on tv. I was lucky enough to be able to attend this challenge in person and it was awesome to watch the decorators in action. They had giant screen tv's so we could see them work close up too. It was done in Phoenix in July so I'm glad they'll finally be airing it soon.
I did post lots of photos of the cakes in the photo album from this challenge as well as several other challenges they filmed that week. The hosts (Scott) and commenter (Keegan) at the event never really talks to the audience as to what is going on with each decorator other than yelling out how much time they have left so I'm anxious to hear what happened to one cake in particular. You'll see what I mean when you watch the show.
