try www.shrinkpictures.com

it's a free website and when you get on their main page, click the "avatar" button and it walks you right through it!

I too have the same problem. Seems I can't get images small enough for avatar to accept. icon_sad.gif

I had troubles shrinking my pictures initially ( I have a Mac and i don't know if that had something to do with it) but i contacted them through the site and explained that I couldn't get my picture to shrink and within a day, they were back in touch with me and they worked on it until it was avatar size. I was thoroughly impressed with their customer service response considering it IS a free service!

In general I hear it's "the best" thing out .
Is that true? I need to get a notebook.

I think that most people that have the problem with getting their pic resized, is the optimization of the pic to get it at the 6kb limit. I use the Corel Paint Shop Program, you have to buy the software though. Maybe your printer software program has a optimization wizzard? If anyone wants to email me their pic, I would be happy to resize your photo.

not able to read all posts here, but usually it has to be in gif or jpeg format, and it has to be 6kb, and 110x110under to upload here. If you are still having a problem perhaps I or mouse can help you. just pm us...

and I use www.gifworks.com to do ones I get....
