Does anyone know where I could find letter templates to outline and flood with royal icing to make a monogram?

Couldn't you just find a font that you really like on the computer and print it out? You can make it any size. You'd cover it with waxed paper or acetate and you could pipe the royal on that.

I guess I could do that, but I don't have any fonts on my computer that are just outlines of letters. That's what I'm kind of looking for.

Do you have Word Art on your computer? you can make any font become an "outline" using Word Art.

On my computer, when I open Word, I just go to "INSERT" and then I click "PICTURE" and then "WORD ART". The very first box in the Word Art collection is an outline. Click on that. Then, any font you choose on your computer will be an outline as opposed to solid. I'll post an example.

If you are using Word, you can turn any text into outline font by using the Format Font controls. In Word 2003, you do the following:

Type the text you want to outline and flood, in the font and font size you want to use. Then, go into the Format menu, and click Font. One of your Effects choices is Outline.

HTH.

I keep doing that, but it doesn't change the look of the letter. It stays outlined and filled in black; it's solid.

Okay . . . how do I attach a word document to these posts??? I can't attach it but I just did one and it's really easy. The nice thing about Word Art is that you can expand / shrink the size of your text by dragging the corner so you truly can make it the exact size that you want. If you're looking for a special font that you don't have on your computer you can download individual fonts online for a minimal cost and you can find the exact font you're looking for that way. I have a Mac and I bought a Font package when I got my computer and it gives me hundreds of options... you could buy a font package for your computer, too, if this is something you'll be doing often.
