The link that MrsMissy gave you is useful but you need to be careful when weighing ingredients, as different ingredients weigh different amounts, for example when dealing with sugar 1 cup of granulated white sugar weighs 7 ounces, 1 cup of brown sugar weighs 8 ounces, and 1 cup of confectioners sugar weighs 4 ounces. For some ingredients such as flour when they get sifted their volume changes 1 cup of all purpose flour un-sifted weighs 5 ounces and once you sift it the volume changes and 1 cup of sifted all purpose flour weighs 4 ounces. Most of our recipes call for volumetric measure when going from volume to weight you cant just assume that 1 cup equals 8 ounces. This includes liquid measure unless your scale can do fluid ounces.
You need a conversion calculator that can convert the volume measure of a specific ingredient to a weight measure.
Here is a link that may help you, you type in the ingredient and it will help you fid the weight equivalent for the volume the recipe calls for.

..it is definitely tricky business getting it all sorted out! I actually did my by hand.

I don't know if each brand is different but accordingly to what I use..the sugar and the brown sugar BOTH weigh the same...1 ts equal 4g
