I don't know if this has been discovered yet but I did a cake over the weekend that I was having a hard time smoothing even with the roller. I heated up the roller with my hair dryer and then smoothed the cake...IT WORKED GREAT !!! Off to buy a hair dryer for kitchen use only icon_biggrin.gif

yep! part of my garage is actually going to be becoming my second kitchen so I can get certified here soon. I'm collecting the parts and laying out the plans as we speak to get all of this out of my regular kitchen! icon_biggrin.gif
It's gets crazy when you're doing an 8 tier wedding cake AND trying to find room to make dinner! icon_eek.gif

sugarnut, you will love it! we just finished my new kitchen about a month or so ago and it is so nice to be able to walk upstairs, fix dinner, and then go right back to what you were doing downstairs. cleaning up to fix dinner, then cleaning up to finish cake stinks!

boy, wouldn't that save time and trouble! Especially if they sold better containers to hold things, like 50 lbs of powdered sugar... I did get that at the hardware store actually... icon_lol.gif

I love the Melvira method. I had great results with it. Creating a smooth surface of icing has been a major trial for me, so I'm thrilled to find something that works for me. Hope you have the same luck! icon_biggrin.gif
