and it was the best marble cake I've ever had. I drizzled some chocolate syrup over the cake in the pan, and swirled it. It tasted like a fudge swirl, and had a very nice chocolate taste. You have to be careful not to put too much in one spot, or it pools in the bottom. Doesn't taste bad, just doesn't look very nice. Do you think I could do the same thing with Torani coffee syrups? The marbling flavors could be endless.

I think you'd be better off taking a small amount of batter and putting the syrup in that, then marbling the batter into the cake. You woulnd't have the mushiness issues then.

yes, I'd mix the syrup in batter that you've set aside to mix in with the regular cake batter.
