I am trying to make a Teddy Bear cake that sits up for my daughters baby shower. I found baker that can make it, but they want to charge $375.00 for a cake to feed about 100 people. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this cake? Please help icon_cry.gif

How big do you want the teddy bear? Wilton has a small stand up teddy bear that you could put on top of another cake. Look in the gallery on this website for baby showers, there are several examples in there.

Thanks I will surely take a look.
I don't want it to be too big, i am thinking about doing a teddy bear and some building blocks.
Do you think I would be able to cover the Wilton teddy bear with Foundant?

Yes you can do it with fondant- depending on what look you are after.

What would be really cute would be to have the bear sitting on some square blocks. You could also do a tiered round cake and have the bear sitting on the top tier. I have also seen people sit the bear on top of a sheet cake made to look like a baby's quilt. I do not think the stand up bear would be hard to do all. Good luck! icon_smile.gif
