Jem Bow Cutter

Anyone know how to use these jem bow cutters? it's a plastic one. I see where the bow part is but there is a trianglur piece above it and i'm not sure what that does. Help please.

I don't have one, but could the triangle be to cover the middle of the bow (where the loops meet in the middle)??

lsawyer, no the triangular part above is as long as the bow itself, and there is a square part below both that looks like it's the center for the bow. I've cut it out and it's still a mystery to me.

I just looked at 4 different jem bow cutters and I didn't see any triangular piece on them. Which cutter are you using?

Is this the one? I believe the diamond is just a separator for the two tails. I tried to paste the picture, but couldn't get it to work.

Yes, that piece of fondant that's cut with the triangle just gets discarded. It's what makes the shape of the tail of the bow.
