I have to set a 6" round on top of a 10" square and drive it about 20 minutes.

I have those Wilton wood dowels and recently bought a package of Wilton plastic dowels (the fatter round ones that are hollow in the middle).

Since it's only a 6" round, would you use the wood ones or would I be better off using the plastic? I never used them before, are they easy to cut? Are they easy for the customer to remove?

How many dowels do I need?

Thanks, I'm ready to put them in now.

I would use the wooden ones since there is only going to be a 6 inch on top.I'd say about 4.

i always use straws, but since you don't have those, just use the wooden ones...I'd think those thick plastic ones would take up too much of your 10" cake

The usual rule of thumb is one for every two inches but no less than 4 in total.
Hope that helps

Thanks everyone. That's what I was thinking, too.
