My son LOVES snickerdoodles. I mean, I think he's become a snickerdoodle he loves them so much. I am getting bored with the plain round shape. Does anyone know if there is a way to convert it to a cutout? Can you just add more flour until the dough stiffens up? Could it be that easy?

Thanks so much!

Try rollin git out between parchment paper and see how that works. It is funny you posted this bc I was thinking about trying this come the new week, when I get bored!

Thanks! And great minds think alike! icon_lol.gif

I thought about taking a small portion of the dough and trying it. That way if it doesn't work, I haven't ruined the whole batch.

If you make them, post how they came out! I'll post my results, too...

I make NFSC dough and add nutmeg and cinnamon to it (thanks for the tips when I first asked!), they cut just like regular with cutters - people say they taste like snickerdoodles. I think they are FAR TOO dry by themselves... so I use the poured fondant recipe from this site and cover them with a semi-thin layer. They sell real well just cut-out as circles (and go on a stick great, too)!

My daughter's class (4th grade) requests them with MMF (instead of regular NFSC) when there's a party - they especially like them shaped like dog bones... kids are kooky, ha.
