Help! It Calls For Chocolate Pudding & Only Have White C

Hey Everyone,

I am making a cake this morning and am iced in, so I can't go to the store. The recipe calls for chocolate pudding and sour cream. Should I just leave out the chocolate pudding or replace it with white chocolate pudding. This is for tonight. (I kind of waited till the last minute thinking it'd be easy icon_lol.gif ) Any suggestions would be great.

What kind of cake is it? If it is white or chocolate, I would imagine the white chocolate will be fine...

I think it will work just fine. Maybe someone else will have another idea. Are you doing the extender recipe?

no, it's a recipe from a kraft foods magazine I just got in the mail. It's chocolate cake with choc pieces and candy cane pieces in it and cool whip for the icing, with more peppermint pieces. It's just for a holiday party, not an order, so I'm not stressing too much. icon_smile.gif

I don't think it would hurt at all. I use cheesecake pudding with strawberry cake mix. It adds a little flavor, but not enough to total change the cake mix flavor.
