I'm trying to make some of the mmf monkeys that I've seen in the gallery and they look like pigs and bears. This is my first experience with fondant and it's very discouraging. When it starts to look ok, the fondant doesn't hold its shape. Did I miss something??

Some people will use half gumpaste half fondant(50/50) mixture to help it dry quicker, so less chance of it sagging. Are you using store bought fondant or did you make your own?? Jen

I made it. I have some premade Wilton fondant, but I've tasted it before and it tastes really bad, so I tried making marshmallow fondant to see if that would be better.

will anyone be eating the monkeys? I always make my figures using the premade fondant, no one ever eats them anyway.

No one will eat the monkeys. My daughter may try a bit, but she'll eat anything.

Here is how the green one turned out. Looks more like a funny looking bear to me. Maybe if it was brown it would look more like a monkey, but my sister wanted pink, green, and purple.

When I think of a monkey, I think of a sideways oval muzzle area of a different shade or color than the head...
