I am making a fuzzy navel cake today (in the oven right now), does anyone have any suggestions for a filling? I was thinking of maybe using raspberry, what do you think?

Mmmm ... I think raspberry sounds great! Raspberry, peach, and orange would go great together. Or strawberry would probably be great, too! Fuzzy navel cake sounds soooo yummy!!! icon_smile.gif

fuzzy navel?
i think oranges when I hear that...not that i have ever had oranges in a cake, but what about some canned mandarin oranges with some grand marnier reduced a bit?

I don't know what a fuzzy navel is?! icon_redface.gif So I don't know what the best filling is? I'm living in the Netherlands and I don't know that term. So if you could tell me? icon_cool.gif

A fuzzy navel is a drink with peach liquor (fuzzy) and orange juice (navel)

Nathalie, a fuzzy navel is a drink made with orange juice and peach schnapps......as far as the cake filling, I would stick with something in the orange or peach flavors, perhaps orange curd....I think with a raspberry filling you would have too many flavors competing.

could do like a peach cobbler filling...
I agree with beckalita though...raspberry would be tooo conflicting with the other flavors...keep with orange/peach

Nathalie, if you have access to the Cake Mix Doctor cookbook, it is in there....and there's also 2 recipes on this site. Go to the recipes tab and seach "fuzzy navel cake".
