I made a batch of buttercream dream last night to use today. I thought I had the perfect consistency so I popped it in the fridge and went to bed. When I pulled it out today it seems too thin. How can I thicken it back up so that my cake doesn't slide? Do I just add more powdered sugar? Will that make it too sweet?

Thanks!

I would just pop it back in the mixer and add some more powdered sugar until you have the right consistency. Just a little at a time, probably won't take much.

I agree, just a little at a time.

If you're afraid it will be too sweet, add a tiny bit of salt too.

If you do use salt, make sure that you disolve it first

I don't think I would add the salt unless the extra ps makes it too sweet. I think that buttercream dream recipe calls for some salted butter, right? In that case, you will probably be fine with just the powdered sugar.

Good luck!
