I have been asked to make a cake with 4 Bratz figures stood on it. At the time I thought it would be a challenge but would try.

I have been trying and failing and need some help. How do I get these figures to stand on the cake? The figures are skinny looking dolls and I am worried that they will fall over real easy. How do I shape the heads - let alone paint them?

All the pics i have found so far have the dolls sat down - would have been my choice also but the customer insists her little girl wants them stood.

Aaaaah please ANY hints and tips would really be appreciated as I am running out of time.

Could you use wooden dowels?

I would definately put something in the legs that stood out of the bottom feet a bit to be able to stick it in the cake for stability. Depending on the size of em you could use wooden dowels, like ang_ty95 said, or drinking straws, or I have also heard of CC members using spaghetti noodles for figurines. Jen

the bratz doll in my pic is sitting down, but its not too difficult to make her stand up. I just stick thin dowels into her legs, just make sure it goes at least halfway up, more if u can. Then let them dry on a piece of foam rubber before dressing her. The face I did using a mould (the same as my princess cake) and painted it to look like a bratz... big eyes and mouth

Thanks for all your advice, I used cocktail sticks (in the legs and head/body joins) in the end as the client said she didn't mind and the cake needed to be really stable to travel in the car.

Thanks again
