Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say that it is great to be back on CC 
What started out as a common sore throat and cold durning Thanksgiving turned into Pneumonia (sp) which landed me in the hospital in isolation.
That Friday, I had no other choice but to go to my doctor. My fever was a 103.2 by time I got there and was immediately rushed into their emergency room at the office.
I had a chest x-ray done which showed that I had Pneumonia (sp). I had to have an IV line done and given two bags of IV fluids 
The following night the ambulance had to be called to take me to the hospital with a temperature of 104.6
My sister told me that she knew immediately that I was definitely sick because I let her and the EMTs take full control of me which I don't let anyone due 
For the life of me I can not remember the ambulance ride or anything until they were able to break my fever, which left me completely wet and drained. 
Due to the Antibiotics and steroids, I ended up having to take insulin which they feel will end once I finish all the medicines. I had to have a spinal tap done because of the fever and headaches to rule out menigitus (sp) Also, because I was coughing up blood, I had to have my lungs drained which was an ordeal into itself : 
And of course, I had an allergic reaction to the medicine that was prescribed to me on Friday, I was kept doped up on medication because the itching was terrible.
I was released Saturday and am so grateful to be home and trying to mend.
I had to let four cake orders go...which didn't sit to well with me.
I trully missed all of you and can't wait to see all the new cakes and read the posts.

Ahh, Stephanie, I will pray that you get well real soon. You need to take care of yourself and rest. Don't worry about the cake orders that got away. More will come. I am sure those people will understand that you are/were sick.

HOLY COW! Boy you have been through the ringers haven't you. Bet you feel like a pin cushion. Glad your ok and back on CC. Don't like to see anyone end up in a hospital. Good Luck take care of yourself.

Indeed I am a pin cushion. I have small veins which make it hard to get my blood and of course the IVs kept blowing and they even had to have Anathesiology(sp) to come in and set a line which lasted about a day.
oh stephanie, i am so sorry you have been so sick! i hope you are 100% soon. if i could i would go do those cake orders for you but i am not as good as you are yet and i live a little bit too far dont worry you will be back in the saddle soon.

After doing all the character cakes, I had finally gotten an order for an appreciation cake that was due on Saturday for 150 to 200 people and was looking forward to it

Ohhhhh Steph....I'm sooo sorry!! I'm glad to see you back and feeling better. Actually...I was just wondering this morning where you were at because you haven't been here in so long. You be sure to take care of yourself and still get lots of rest.

Sooo sorry, to hear about all you've been through. I do understand what you felt, and what are still feeling, in a way, because a few years ago I had Pneumonia. It started as sore throat, then headaches, then there was the temperature and finally I was not able to breathe. I was working and one of my co-workers called 911. I spend one day and a half at the hospital. My doctor said my lungs were filled with some kind of fluid and were swelling so much that they were putting sooo much pressure on my ribs, that's why I was in terrible pain and could hardly breathe, also my asthma was very sensitive those days, had high temperature, very high. The first few months were horrible. I was on treatment for almost a year, with very strong antibiotics. Doctor told me to try not to get it again, because it could be very very dangerous for me ro even fatal, because my immune system it's not strong enought. 
So stephanie, be cautious staying around people with any kind of cold or flu. Hopefully you'll be filling normal very soon, if follow Doctor's directions. I'll be praying for you.

I am feeling stronger and have spent alot of time going through the uploaded pictures and am amazed at the talent that is displayed everyday here at CC.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got good news from my doctor today, I won't have to continue with the insulin once I finish taking all the Predisone
I forgot to tell the biggest news of all; I haven't had a cigarette in almost two weeks
And to top the day off, I got a cake order for what else...Spongebob Under the Sea for Saturday

Well, whoever said that a hard head makes a soft behind told the truth.
I have been sick and was feeling pretty good when I got this cake order on Tuesday for today. Everyone was telling me not to do it but of course I didn't listen...too hard headed.
Spongebob Under the Sea...yeah, another Spongebob, got the better of me
I started on him yesterday and was doing a little at the time and finished him off today by the grace of God
Suffice to say, now I can hardly walk and my body feels like someone used me as a punching bag
Why, oh why, do we put our bodies through this torture just to decorate a cake?
Now, I have done upteen Spongebobs and can probablly do them with my eyes closed but I just couldn't say no...am I trully dumb or what?
