This is a long ways off but I have a cake order for june and their wedding/reception is 2 hours away. How much do I charge for delivering the cake and second the sister of the bride lives next to me and says that she can take the cake the two hours to save money. But I am worried about the cake actually making it. Does anyone have any suggestions.
When figuring cost remember you have to come home so the mielage is double and so is the time 4 hours plus set up make sure you charge for mileage and time.
the IRS allowed 48 cents a mile I think this year... need to double check that but you could charge that and 4 hours time. and is that 2 hours there at regular speed or slower delivery speed ?
don't worry about the IRS limit - that only is a factor RE: what you can deduct on taxes when an employer doesn't reimburse you.
You can charge a flat fee, a per mile (round trip) or whatever you want. That's a long way to travel, and I think a charge of more than $100 wouldn't be unreasonable. And I totally agree about them signing off when accpeting the cake if they take it themselves.
some places just won't let people pick them up - you pay for delivery or you don't get the cake.
