I would love to make the christening dress/gown cake for my first niece's christening (April 22nd). I was just wondering how hard this is (covering it in Fondant) Any tips or suggestions would really be appreciated!!

You will enjoy this proyect very much
Start with a rectangular cake, and sculpt the shape of the dress, cover first so you have were to attach the dress parts, then proceed to do all the parts. You need a rolling resembles fabric, and some nice border cuter too. I mix my fondant with gum-paste to give more structure to the "fabric".
Look is my photos for the boy's version. if you need any help let me know.

I have done one covered in fondant in my pix. Personally, I made a template to guide me in cutting the cake. This helped me to figure out the exact shape and where everything was going to go (lace, pearls, etc). Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask questions. thumbs_up.gif
