Has anyone done shading on cookies, like the natural blush that appears on the pear: http://www.dianescakesandmore.com/cookies/pearcookiefavors.htm

I'd do it with a quick sweep with the airbrush.

You can also tint evaporated milk with food color. Paint this onto the cookie before baking. You won't get an iced cookie this way, but some people prefer the cookie plain.

A little OT....but aren't her cookies gorgeous!!! I'm baking wedding cookie favors for my sister and she saw one on Diane's website that she likes. No way can I make mine as good as on that website!

Petal dust for sure. You can get an even softer look by mixing a bit of cornstarch with the dust first.

I love those cookies! How do they get them to be so even - I mean it doesnt even seem to be made with fondant. Is that what Toba's glace looks like? I only work with fondant and ri details so I dont know how she gets them to be sooo beautiful. Wish I were that good...sigh...back to work! lol Jackie

It might be something like cornstarch and food coloring... I dont know if anyone saw the "Sugar Rush" episode with the rolling pin lady, but she did blush made with something like that.

Maybe?
