I am going to be doing a topsy turvy cake in a couple of weeks and want to attempt a MMF bow, could you share any tips?? I also want to put the wire in as decorations with how do you bend them w/o them looking tacky?? Also, is it safe to put floral tape in the cake after wrapping the floral wire?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You could wrap the wire around your rolling pin for curlicues n stuff. as for your other questions.. here's a bump

I mix my fondant with gumpast to make bows so they dry harder and faster. Be sure to allow several days for your bow loops to dry. I would put a straw into the cake to put the wires into and not put them directly into the cake. HTH

Tiggy- thanks for your reply. Would I make the loops first, let them dry a couple of days and then put it together later on? Or put it together as I am making it?

I make my loops and lay them on their sides to dry for a few days before putting the bow together. If you don't let them dry they won't hold their shape.
