I have the traditional half sheet cake 11x15x2 is there a way to make the cake higher without buying a 3 inch pan?

they have these sleeve thingees that you can buy online (can't think of any url's at the time) but they are designed to be used in shallow pans like 1.5-2" so that one can make deeper cakes. Hope that helps ya hun hopefully someone has a website that you can checkout for the extender sleeves.

What I have done in the past when someone has asked me to make the half sheet cake taller than what it actually is, was to make one cake, then turn around and make another one and add it right on top of the first one. It turned out really great doing it that way and had no problems from it at all.

dang, I just had a thought (ruh roh keep an eye on yer silverware)!!!
What if you used cardboard or cardstock cut it to the depth you want tape it together on the sides (might have to use that silver tape that plumbers use for ductwork) and then wrap the whole thing with tin foil. That might work in a pinch.

I have done this:

several times to round cakes to make my cakes deeper. Maybe it would work with a sheet cake too?
