Probably a silly question, but is there anything I can substitute for merangue powder? I was trying to make alice's icing and i dropped the can of merangue powder all over the floor!! I have been to the store 3 times today, and do not want to go back out there!!!
So if I am being silly just say so, but any ideas would be appreciated!!
TIA ![]()
powdered no.... I guess actual eggwhites wouldn't work?
Thanks for the reply!!
If you want M powder for Butter Cream icing then forget it.
You can make your BC without that.
But I don't know about royal icing or any other purpose.
People use eggs. If you beat your eggs until it make foam or more than that and then it will dry then you can use it.
Thanks

THanks
Thanks so miuch Cindy!! I can not t ell you how much I appreciate that!! We had lots of snow and it is crazy driving conditions out there!!![]()
Here's one that is going to be a little thinner than the royal, but you can add additional powder sugar I would imagine to get it to the consistancy you want:
Decorator's Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
about 2 Tablespoons half and half
Beat together till smooth and tint.
That's very easy and basic...I'm checking for something else....
thats perfect!!! Thank you so much!!! Your a life saver!!!
You can use BC thinned down on cookies? I never knew that, coulda saved myself some trouble!! LOL
Thanks again Cindy, I so appreciate it!!
You're welcome...What I meant by thinned down buttercream is the thinner consistancy you use for some decorations. I don't think I would thin it down too much. But the other one should work fine and will be a snap to make...Gotta get back in the kitchen...
Happy Baking and Decorating!!
Cindy
