Does anybody know how many cupcakes can be iced using the 1M tip to swirl the top using a buttercream recipe that uses a 2 lb. bag of powdered sugar? I have four dozen cupcakes to make tomorrow and I need to know how many batches of buttercream I will need to make. Thanks in advance.

I make a double batch so 4 pounds of sugar to cover 2 dozen cupcakes but then agian I like alot of frosting you might be able to get away with covering them all with just one double batch.

Thanks Heather. I would have never guessed it would take that much frosting.

The 1M tip uses a lot of icing. I would definitely make a double batch, you could always freeze what's leftover. The worst thing is to run out of icing in the middle of a cake.
