I want to make a pillow cake, and I have no idea how much MMF I will need. I've never made it before, and have never even used fondant. (In course II right now, Course III starts next month) Any help would be VERY appreciated.. icon_smile.gif

www.earlenescakes.com has a fondant chart but I don't know if she has a pillow cake there. Maybe you can take a similar size cake and figure from that.

The amount of fondant will be determined by the size of your pillow cake, just like when determining fondant amount for a regular cake. If you do an 8 inch wide by 4 inch high I would make 36 oz. of fondant. Good luck with your pillow cake!
