I need to roll fondant today for bow loops. I use my purple rings on my rolling pin. Problem - 4 year old has taken a ring and I can't find it. Any last minute suggestions? I do not feel confident rolling without my rings. I"m thinking maybe home depot has something??? I checked Micheal's. They don't sell the separate rings! I don't want to buy another rolling pin.
thanks!!!
I use dowls - you can buy 1/8" at home depot - and put one on each side and when the rolling pin is rubbing the dowls I know I am at the right thickness.
I always just buy the dowls at Home Depot/Lows/Walmart (where ever I happend to be shopping and remember I need them). I just get one, cut it in 1/2 and roll away... I use them until my DS finds them and uses them for his own "construction" with fondant. ![]()

thx, been working more on the chocolate side, than the cake side... Now I need inspiration on my first MMF cake, so I'm back at least for a bit.
On topic with the fondat and since I used to work at a hardware store, I thought I'd actually speak up again.
Maybe a thick rubber band would work or double them up.
