I've got Pooh #2 in the oven and don't want to screw this one up!!! I'm using the cake release, which I love, but am wondering what the correct amount of time I need to wait to take the cake out of the pan with it.
I know you let the cake cool completely with Pam and 10-15 mins with the shortening and flour, but it doesn't say on the bottle... Can anyone help?

I always wait until I can touch the pan with my bare hands before releasing the cake. I've never gone wrong doing it this way.

I always wait 15 minutes. That's what our WM instructor told us, so I've just always done it that way. It works every time though.

I also wait 10-15 minutes.

I don't like the Wilton cake release, btw..it has a kind of a funky salty taste to it. Has anyone else noticed this or am I doing something wrong with it?

Yahoo. so, how long did you actually wait before removing it from the pan?
