Semi-Homemade With Sandra Lee

The other day she made cheese cake pops, they looked yummy. I was at Sams Club the other day and noticed they had 3 books by her, Semi Homemade 1,2, and 3 so someone must like her. The blue angel food cake kinda turned me off, although I liked how she stuffed the marshmallows down the center.
That guy you mentioned, Alton Brown, he sure is interesting... Is he the one on that show called Good Eats? He can sure pick out all the wrong stuff people do when they bake....YIKES!!!! And all the science behind it can make your head spin...
Yes, that's him! I haven't been able to watch him much lately but I am hooked! I don't always remember all the explaination but he's alot of fun to watch and he gives tips that I would have never thought of. I also like it that he goes over different gadgets (love my kitchen gadgets!)
I watched her for a few minutes last night... she was cracking me up.
She baked a box mix strawberry cake, filling the laters with strawberry jam, then iced it in store-bought strawberry out of a can. The ONLY thing she did different was instead of water, use canned strawberry juice in the cake mix. That was her BIG SECRET.
I was dying laughing. Anyone can do the box cake mix, canned icing thing. Why have a whole show segment about it. Then she went on and on about how it was the most delicious cake.
My wife watches her show and all the other food network shows. I sometimes wonder where this woman lives. Some of the things she does makes sense, but a lot dont. One show she was decorating with some things hanging from the ceiling that she said were cheap to decorate with. We saw some at a store and they were $20+ each and she had at least 30 hanging from the ceiling. Who can afford some of the things she does. A lot of things she has on her show costs a lot more to do than the traditional way and doesnt save that much time.
