Hi- I just had a request today for a caramel cake. I could just do white cake with caramel frosting, but was wondering if anyone has tried stirring caramel topping into a cake mix to make caramel layers??

I wish I had more time to experiment! Maybe if nothing else, I could do it as a marbled effect. Anyone tried this?

I have used the caramel or dulce de leche coffee creamer in cake-it's a wonderful subtle caramel flavor. I can't help you more than that, but giving a bump-if you try it, let us know!

I wonder, in addition to the caramel coffee creamer, why not add a couple of squirts of Dulce De Leche Hersey syrup? Maybe I'll have to try that next time.

Dh makes a caramel cake mix that is delish. Sometimes it is hard to find. I find mine in one of the smaller groceries in the area not the big chains.

I make my caramel mud cake from a white cake mix. I add some caramel topping and instead of using white choc I use caramel buds. I also add a bit of caramel flavouring oil and it comes out delicious. Its my favourite cake I make!
