Help - Need Fondant Flowers Instructions

Very new to this and just tried experimenting with fondant. When doing the bow, the fondant cracks. Do I need to add something or maybe roll it thicker? Also, is there a site on how to make flowers. The easier the better. I am planning to make my first cake for my grandmother's 89th birthday. I am doing a cake that looks like a package with a bow, and I thought I would add a flower or two. Thank you.
