What Would You Want A Software Program To Do??

Just wanted to know how this is going?
what is your husband writing this program in?
Will it be connected to a database?
Just curious 
I would like to enter my ingredient for recipes
and the price by lbs,oz ...
and then when you enter your recipe and save it
will figure out your base cost.
I hope that makes since.

just an update....husband is still working on it!! he has instructed to me to quit asking him about it though!! 
I get really impatient and naggy when I want something!!! 
apparently, programming is a very SLOW process!! 
i know he's been on here a few times looking through the posts for some ideas....so it is coming along....not sure how much longer though b/c I'm not allowed to ask him about it!! maybe i'll just have to post his emaill address on here and ya'll can ask!! he just said I couldn't ask!!! 
you guys will be the first to know when it is done!!!

Question? can or did your husband look at the matrix. it seems to have some flaws and I don't have a clue as to how to rework it.

The Matrix says....
For a wedding cake
6" 8" 10" and 12" square all two layers
it calculated
Total $207 this is only $0.97 per serving. That can't be right.
And deposit of $108
For a 9x13 sheet cake two layers is says $54 plus a deposit. that's over $1.00 a serving.
Just curious if maybe you had any advice or another matrix.
I'd love the ability to attach or store files with the clients-
copies of contracts, photos of the cakes, etc.
And, a place to store various notes about the client- preferences, allergies, family, dislikes, easy/difficult to work with, etc.
