I don't normally do a contract with people before doing cakes b/c I don't charge that much, but I just got an order for my first wedding cake and I wanted some opinions on whether I should do a wedding contract as it's a couple hundred dollars.

Any suggestions? Or templates that I can use?

I would put something down in writing for both your protection. Earlene has a contract on her site that is a good starting point:

I would most definitely recommend a contract. It's protection for both you and your client, not to mention, with everything laid out in writing, all parties will know what is expected from each of them.

Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for the advice! I went ahead and created my own template and have sent off the contract!

Thanks again!
