Which Looks Better? No Background Or Draped Background

All of my current cake pictures have no background. I think its nice and clean and allows more focus on the cake. BUT I love draped backgrounds so I adobe photoshopped a background in. I can't decide which looks better. I plan on having a website soon and would like your advice on which looks better from a customers point of view. Thanks
If you click on the pictures they won't be as blurry
Personally, I like the draped background. I think it looks more professional.
I like the ones with the background better. It just dresses it up a bit. You still focus on the cake but it isn't so stark. JMO
BTW I LOVE your bow!!!
Definitely a background. Maybe you could change it to fit the cake theme.
I like the draped look, especially on the first cake. On the other two, I think if you moved the cakes up to where the middle of the cake hits the line where the edge of the draping is (hope that makes sense), it might look better. I think that's how you have the first cake and that's one of the reasons it looks good (to me). You could also try a different background color. I've seen black used and it really looks nice. If you look at my pics (since I don't have software to do what you're doing) I just use a white tablecloth or my kitchen counter CLEARED OFF so there is nothing around the cake. Nothing kills a cake picture like a sippee cup in the background!
Just my opinion, do w/ it what you like!
Good luck,
Thanks! So draped it is I guess. This drape was just the best I could find. I will keep looking for ones that better suit the cakes. Thanks guys! Keep the opinions coming.
Thanks Arosstx. I know exactly what you mean about moving the cakes up. I will keep working on it and try out different drapes and colors. I wanted to see what you guys thought first. I wasn't gonna bother doing all that work If no one even like it. But now I think i'm gonna go with the drapes. thanks
I agree with the others, the background definitely adds to your cake.
I have photoshop, but never don't know how to add a backdrop. Think I could find it in the help files ?
Just reread my post, "never don't know" . How's that for perfect English!! Guess I should have previewed it first..haha
That one looked great when i was making it but compared to the frist draped one it doesn't look so hot. what do you think
I say definitely with the drapes. And your cakes are awesome! When I saw the one with roses--I immediately recognized it from the front of one of the Wilton books & I said "ohhhhhh she did THAT!!!" Great job!! ![]()
My vote is the drapes. The drapes dress it up abit more.
Personally, I don't like the photoshop added background, IMO It looks too fake, I like drapes, but the real ones, were you can "feel" the cake on top of the fabric, not just floating, I use photoshop, but what I do is I Blur the background, see in my pictures, if you like it, I'll explain how to do it
