I finally got my new cake finished....whew! This one took me awhile to do even after the buttercream mess up. icon_cry.gif It's posted in my photos in case you guys wanna check it out. It's the Pittsburgh Steelers one. What do you think? Anything that I could have done to make it better?? Sorry...I know that the picture is terrible!

My 13yo is a huge Steelers fan and he said COOL!!!! I've been trying to turn him into a Titans fan but no luck icon_rolleyes.gificon_smile.gif

I like it-good job!! Can I pick your brain for a minute? How did you make the helmet? I have a groom's cake next year and they want me to make University of Miami (bride's alma mater) vs. Florida State (groom's)-kind of a house divided/mixed marriage thing. I haven't tried to make a helmet yet but have been gathering ideas!! Any input would help! Thanks!

You guys are all so awesome...and I know that I will never be as good as you are!!

dodibug...I used the sports ball pan, I carved a bit out of the front to make it like the front opening of the helmet. For the face mask...I cheated icon_redface.gif and used black pipe cleaner. Hope that helps...if you have any more questions please just ask anytime. icon_biggrin.gif

Wonderful cake...My sons birthday is next month and he has already told me that he wants a Titans cake....its his big birhtday he will be entering the teenage years...i thought my cakes were the only ones with drama like a soap opera

That looks great. I have made a few football cakes but have never tried or even thought of a football helmet (3D). Guess I have to add that to my things to do list.
