Melvira's method is amazing, and I will never smooth a cake the hard way again! I know that this topic has probably been visited an infinite number of times, but as a newbie to cake decorating, I am so thrilled with the results! I have been painstakingly smoothing with parchment for a while, and finally made it to the store to get some rollers. I am so thrilled with the results. Now, if I can just decorate the cake to do the smoothing justice! LOL

I just want Melvira and all of you other amazingly talented folks here to know how grateful I am and how much I appreciate the multitude of resources that I have found here on CC! Thank you from my kitchen to yours! thumbs_up.gif

What icing recipe do you use? I've tried it 2 diff times and could NOT get it. I tried it with the bc dream and also with whipped bc. Does it only work with certain recipes and if so which ones are they? TIA

Sorry to take so long to respond. I have been using the basic crusting buttercream recipe. I have not tried it with others, but her tutorial suggested that crusting works best. Happy Baking to you all! icon_biggrin.gif
