get sharper edges using MMF. I am wanting to cover my cake with MMF but it always rounds off the edges. I know that this is to be expected, but are there any tricks to getting them as sharp as possible. I don't want a dome shaped cake.

Anyone??

well I would suggest that the layer of buttercream have non rounded crisp edges. I would then put my cake in the fridge to make the icing hard and firm. that might help to get a less rounded edge.

What I've done in the past is doing the top of the cake first and cutting it so nothing drapes over the side, and then wrapping the MMF around the sides. If you're going to do this, however, it should have a border where the top fondant and the side fondant meet, or it'll look funky.

Hope this helps!

My LORD I had to edit a lot of this. LOL..my kids are playing with a really loud toy (the learning house) and it's whacking out my concentration.
