so i made a pair of booties out of pastillage (i was going to use mmf, but didn't have shortening, and thought that i would have needed it).
so now how do i place them on the cake? i noticed that most people put them on some sort of platform... is that necessary, or can i just stick them right on the cake?

I stuck mine right on the cake if you think the mom to be will want to save them trace the bottom of them on parchment paper so you don't get icing on them and she can save as mementos hope this helps 
very easy look at my cakes I'm not good at all and used a tutorial someone gave me the link anybody can make them!!!! look at my cakes with booties!!
So those of you that have made booties are they hard to do? I need to put some on a cake next month and don't know what to do with them. I have the pattern though.
where can I find the pattern? I'd love to give them a try.....
