Hello everybody! I just had to share my good news with somebody that would understand me. I got my first Kitchen Aid stand mixer!!! It was on sale. although it's not the color that I wanted (it's olive) I'm very happy.
Last night I tried the 7 minutes frosting, but something went wrong because all the syrup was in the bottom of the bowl and I hope it's not my mixer fault.

Maybe it just needs to be adjusted.

Did you use the whisk or the paddle attachment? If you used the paddle, the syrup will get left on the bottom--at least it does here in my kitchen! If you used the whisk and still had that problem, you probably need to adjust the height, the instructions on how to do so are in your owners manual. Pretty soon you'll be wondering how you ever got along without your stand mixer!

Congrats on getting your KA! Olive sounds like a pretty color.

thanks everybody! I'm enjoying it.
Lotsoftots, I used the whisk that's why I was a little worry, but now I know I can adjust the height. I have to read the owner manual first, right?!!! icon_redface.gificon_biggrin.gif

Congrats! I know that happy feeling! I just got my very first one too! It was an early holiday present from hubby, because it was on sale, AND...they had my favorite color! PURLPE! My kitchen is light purple, white and black accents, so I have been holding out getting a KA until I found one in purple! It's a beautiful shade of plum, and looks GREAT on my counter. I am, a HAPPY CAMPER! It is such a welcome gift, as I have been using my grandmother's VERY old, ( we guess-timate almost 55 year old) Sunbeam mixer! You know the one...the old black and white stand mixer? The old thing still worked great up untill the time I placed it into retirement last week! I don't think my gramdma used it very much, as it still looked brand new! I will however miss the sentamental value of using her old stand mixer, but think she would understand the need to have a shiny new purple KA!
Happy baking!
