Hi, I've been reading your posts for a few weeks and I have a few questions. (I haven't worked out all your terminology yet!)
I was just reading about the rice krispies...do you mean the breakfast cereal? And do you add melted marshmallows to mould it?
Also, what is MMF?
Thanks for the great site. I'm learning lots, and you've given me heaps of enthusiasm!!
A couple of answers~
Rice Krispie Treats (yes, the cereal)
Ingredients
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 package (10 oz. about 40) regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies®
Directions
1. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Cut into squares when cool.
NOTE: Use fresh marshmallows for best results.
MMF is short for Marshmallow Fondant - and you can do a search in recipes on this site for a few of them!
Welcome, by the way... this place is great!
I quik note for molding the rice krispies. Some people say not to use the butter or margerine. I think the post said it makes them more stable to mold. But for taste I used the butter. Just thought I would let you know.
