I thought I'd ask you guys this before I went and made a trial cake to find the answer out for myself...
If you use RKT as an entire layer, is it necessary to put a support plate between the rkt and the next cake layer? I made a wine bottle cake and had an entire layer of rkt supporting the bottle and I put a support plate between the rtk and the cake. I wasnt sure if the cake/icing would soften the rkt or if the weight wouldnt be distributed evenly enough.
Would dowels have worked directly against the rkt layer?
Thanks for any comments in advance!

Could you fill me in on what RKT is? I have never heard of that acronym before...it's hard to help when we don't know what you're talking about!

A-ha! I could not figure that out for the life of me!

In that case, I don't think you would need dowels, but I have no experience using rice krispie treats in a cake so maybe someone else can help.
