My dh & his mother are celebrating their birthdays this weekend. I'm wanting something simple that will travel well--our meeting will be taking place 2 hours away. I don't mind doing something in the middle (that will go for either sex) or I could split the cake & do 1 thing on one side & 1 thing on the other. But I'm wanting to keep it small b/c only 6 or 7 people will be eating it & I don't want a lot of left overs.

stripes or polka dots could go eigther way.maybe some spring colors. or you could do a sq.cake as a present cake icon_cool.gif

I was thinking stripes too. I guess great minds think alike! Also, you could do a family tree thing with their position in the family highlighted in some way. Just a thought since they are related.

I've decided to attempt the present, but it's going to be round. The cake store was out of the square & I needed it for this weekend. But I'm going to attempt my first bow too. My loops are drying & I'm going to try to assemble it tomorrow (wish me luck).

I've decided to brush the bow w/ pearl luster dust. Any suggestions on the color for the present? I had thought about blue, but I'm afraid of everyone walking around w/ blue mouths. And for the bitter reason & mouth reason I don't want red or black. Which would you recommend?
