Hello all! Do any of you specialize in a particular area of cakes like wedding only? I am thinking I would like specialize in children's cakes. I would certainly do other cakes but this is what I would like the bulk of my business to be. I was just wondering if anyone else is set up like this.

I suspect that you can sort of direct your business just by where you advertise... skip the bridal shows, and focus on school stuff, perhaps your local party supply store has a bulletin board you can post an ad on? Get to know some girl guide/ scout leaders ... that sort of thing. Also, every time you make a kids' cake, supply a few business cards to the Mom ... most of my clients are thrilled to be able to pass my info along to guests who ask! Make sure your slogan on the cards mentions "children's party cakes and more!"
