I've tried contacting my local Michael's and Hobby Lobby and no one can seem to answer my question. How much does it cost all together, including supplies? Thanks.

If you don't use any coupons, and there is no special offer that month whatsoever, you can expect to spend about $75 on the class.

I just finished Course 1 tonight at a local Hobby Lobby and can not express to you how much I learned in such a short period of time. The class instruction cost on $25.00. The Course 1 kit costs another 20.00. Various other supplies cost me around $100.00, some of which you do not have to purchase but it is helpful. You should be able to do the class for no more than 100.00 if you purchase only what you need.

I hope you can sign up!! It is really a very inexpensive way to learn the basics of cake decorating.

At Michaels March is Buy the Kit (C1's is $20) get the class free (normally $30). You can use a coupon on the kit.

You will need meringue powder and decroating bags as well. There are several other things you may want to buy in addition to that.

You can expect to spend anywhere from $40 to $100+. It all depends on how much and what you want to buy.

Always try to use the 40% off coupons on big items when you can and when they have one. During the classes at Micheals you do recieve 10% off of your class supples, so that helps a little as well.

In the course one I took you make cakes for class 2, 3, and 4. So for supplies you will need 3 cake mixes and ingredients for them and buttercream frosting for them. 1 batch bc for the cake and one for the practice in class. So 6#'s powdered sugar. Meringue (sp?) powder. Colors, etc. Derby clown heads, turntable (recommended), and of course class 1 kit. So it can add up. Like others said it can be about $40 on up. Depending on how many toys you want to add. icon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif

Better check that with your local store--I tried to do that last night (for the Fondant and Gumpaste course) and was told I couldn't use the coupon on the kit and sign up for a course, because (GASP!) then I'd be getting TWO promotions!!

That happened to me too! The cashiers weren't sure about it so they asked the manager & she said no icon_sad.gif It's ok though, I still saved the $30 class fee & had my coupon for something else.
