Not-So-Sweet White Bc...help!?
Decorating By mamafrogcakes Updated 1 Dec 2005 , 3:23am by cakefairy18
I just got a last minute order for a very good friend of ours to make a birthday cake for their daughter who's turning 7. She wants a snowman themed cake and a not-very sweet icing. I immediately thought about IMBC, which I just recently made for the first time over Thanksgiving. BUT it's not white?! Since this is short notice I will probably be making a fondant snowman, maybe some ice cream cone trees, etc. But I want the icing to be white. Any suggestions??? Are there any other BCs out there that are not too sweet but white?!
Help!?!?!
Try the whipped cream buttercream frosting recipe you can find in the recipes section here. I've started a post about it in the recipe forum and it has gotten a lot of responses. It is a pure white buttercream but it does not crust. If you're used to or can work with IMBC, I think this is probably very close to that consistency. It is a little tedious to make b/c you have to make a merangue in one bowl and the butter mixture in another but it was worth it for the not so sweet/ not so grainy, light and airy texture.

This is the BC I use the most. It's easy to work with and isn't too sweet.
if u need a crusting recipe use the dream whip BC...excellent, not to sweet, light and fluffy...
